Vibratory, Burnishing, and Mass Finishing

International Chemical Company has been formulating chemical compounds that are vital to the success of small part manufacturing since our founding in 1906: vibratory and burnishing fluids and compounds for mass finishing operations. For metal fabricators requiring deburring and degreasing compounds, ICC has the advanced chemistry you seek. ICC incorporates advanced-technology surfactants, potent antifoaming agents, robust alkaline builders, strong detergents and effective lubricity additives. All of our mass finishing compounds and fluids engineered for brightening, deburring, degreasing, ball burnishing, and cleaning operations are effective, efficient and very economical. Engineered to decrease cycle times and operating temperatures, ICC's metal finishing fluids assist in lowering operational costs while improving surface finishes, significantly reducing foam levels, and providing much needed detergency and corrosion protection for both the media and machinery.

Burnishing Operations: Mass finishing compounds engineered to assist in the sizing and shaping, hardening and surface finishing of pre-engineered, ferrous and non-ferrous metal components are referred to as burnishing fluids. They are specially formulated with potent surfactants, water-soluble lubricants and corrosion inhibitors to prevent media loading and glazing, which may adversely impact your operations. All of ICC's burnishing fluids are formulated with efficiency and surface finish front-of-mind. It is critically important in this type of vibratory finishing that the desired surface finish be attained in the shortest possible time, so as to prevent workload back-ups. For those operations utilizing ferrous metals like carbon steel (especially in steel ball burnishing), ICC's burnishing compounds impart a rust and corrosion inhibiting film engineered to provide protection for un-rinsed components. In the case of sensitive metals such as aluminum and zinc, burnishing fluids formulated for this process are further inhibited to prevent staining. They do not contain mineral oils, silicone, heavy metals, petroleum solvents or phosphates, resulting in mass finishing compounds that provide for easy disposal and are environmentally responsible.

Brightening Operations: Mass finishing fluids engineered to assist solely with the luster of manufactured ferrous and non-ferrous parts are referred to as brightening compounds. ICC's brightening fluids are formulated to be acidic and economical, while providing much needed detergency to keep the entire operation as clean as possible. Most are compatible with metals such as aluminum, carbon steel, stainless steel, bronze, brass, copper and nickel alloys in vibratory finishing equipment. Due to the nature of these types of operations, all of ICC's brightening compounds are inhibited to limit foam levels, providing for cleaner work areas and the easy visual inspection of manufactured components during the vibratory brightening process. Effective corrosion inhibitors also provide oxidation protection for brightened parts, the media and machinery. Some brightening fluids are also well-suited for steel ball burnishing and deburring operations and are compatible with ferrous alloys and sensitive metals.

Deburring and Degreasing Operations: Mass finishing fluids that are required for vibratory deburring and degreasing must be engineered to provide: increased levels of detergency for cleaning; lubricating properties to prevent pitting and scratching of metal surfaces; and effective rust and corrosion resistance. ICC's deburring and degreasing fluids for mass finishing operations are outstanding cleaning compounds that are compatible with all vibratory finishing equipment. Formulated for use with both ferrous and nonferrous metals like carbon steel, cast iron, aluminum, copper, and brass, they are highly effective at deburring and degreasing your manufactured components.
